We believe swimming is a lifelong pursuit, with opportunities to build fitness, develop skills and achieve personal goals. Every session in our Academy Squad program is about refining technique, building endurance and helping swimmers reach their potential.
From taking the first step beyond learn to swim to training for competition, our squads provide a supportive pathway for swimmers to grow. Whether swimming for fitness, enjoyment or competitive success, we encourage commitment, celebrate progress and build confidence in and out of the water.
Backed by the expertise of LeisureSafe, our Academy Squad program combines structured coaching with a strong focus on inclusion and swimmer wellbeing. We support a range of abilities and ambitions, creating an environment where swimmers can challenge themselves, connect with others and develop a lasting love of swimming.
Academy Groups

Blue Squad
A fitness and recreational squad delivered alongside Bronze Squad. It is designed for swimmers who want to continue training without competing. Club registration is not required.
Up-to 3 Sessions per week.

Bronze Squad
The beginning of the competitive swimming pathway. Swimmers develop their technique, endurance and training habits and must be registered with the Emerald Seals Swimming Club.
Up-to 3 Sessions per week.

Silver Squad
The second-highest squad level for committed competitive swimmers. Participants train across multiple sessions each week and work towards achieving State qualifying times.
Swimmers must be registered with the Emerald Seals Swimming Club.

Gold Squad
Gold Squad is for swimmers competing at State level and working towards national qualification, with a strong commitment to training and performance.
Swimmers must be registered with the Emerald Seals Swimming Club.
Emerald Seals Amateur Swimming Club
Emerald Seals Swim Club brings local swimmers and families together through a shared love of swimming. The club provides a welcoming community where swimmers can build friendships, celebrate their progress and represent Emerald in competition.
With the Seals clubhouse located at Emerald Aquatic Centre, the club is at the heart of our local swimming community. Weekly club nights every Tuesday give swimmers an opportunity to come together, put their skills into practice and enjoy the camaraderie of club swimming.
Working in partnership with LeisureSafe and the Academy Squad program at Emerald Aquatic Centre, the club connects structured training with opportunities to compete. Academy Squad delivers the coaching and swimmer development program, while Emerald Seals provides the club pathway for competitive swimmers.
